This is a series of lights and experiments that were grown over time. Through this time, I learned a lot about the process of crystallization. Although naturally beautiful in its unpredictability and manifestation, I felt that it is a process that also asks for a lot of attention and precision, demands patience, presence and a willingness to surrender to control.
Every crystal solution is a home for a fragile crystal infant.
Instead of shaping the lamps directly, I created the conditions for them to grow. Day by day, I watched as they formed. And as they did, I always kept the lights on, because they showed the incremental decisions made by the crystal as it expanded around them, mineral by mineral. With the lights on I could see crystal clearly through.
